Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactogyn is an oral probiotic dietary supplement developed by Vesale Pharma (also known as Vesale Pharmaceutica) specifically for women's intimate health. The formulation contains a combination of three Lactobacillus strains—*Lactobacillus crispatus* (LMG S-29995), *Lactobacillus brevis*, and *Lactobacillus acidophilus*—along with Vitamin C. It utilizes the proprietary Intelicaps® encapsulation technology to deliver 5.4 billion colony-forming units (CFUs) per capsule. The product is designed to restore and maintain healthy vaginal flora, thereby reducing the recurrence of bacterial vaginosis. It has been evaluated in a Phase 2 clinical trial (NCT03601429) for the prevention of recurrent bacterial vaginosis in women and is marketed in over 30 countries as a nutraceutical for fertile, pregnant, and menopausal women.
