Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lactolevure is a multi-strain probiotic supplement developed by Uni-Pharma, designed to restore and maintain the balance of the intestinal microflora. It contains a synergistic blend of the probiotic yeast *Saccharomyces boulardii* and three bacterial strains: *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, *Lactobacillus plantarum*, and *Bifidobacterium lactis*. The mechanism of action involves the competitive inhibition of pathogenic microorganisms, the production of antimicrobial substances (such as lactic acid and bacteriocins), and the enhancement of the intestinal epithelial barrier. Additionally, it modulates the gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT) to support immune function. Lactolevure is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of antibiotic-associated diarrhea, the management of symptoms related to irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and the restoration of gut health following acute gastroenteritis or dietary changes.
