Overview
**Lactonorm** is a non-prescription intravaginal probiotic medicinal product marketed by OTCPharm for restoration and maintenance of normal vaginal microbiota. Each vaginal gelatin capsule contains at least 100 million CFU of live *Lactobacillus acidophilus* in a lyophilized four-strain mixture (NK1, NK2, NK5, NK12). The locally acting lactobacilli normalize, maintain, and regulate physiological vaginal microflora; the product is indicated for treatment and prevention of vaginal dysbiosis and as part of treatment for bacterial vaginosis, vulvitis, vaginitis, and postmenopausal atrophic vaginitis.
