Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Ladybiome (NBT-02) is a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) being developed by Nexbiome Therapeutics for the treatment of vaginal infections, including bacterial vaginosis and vulvovaginal candidiasis. The therapy utilizes specific beneficial bacterial strains, likely from the *Lactobacillus* genus, to restore a healthy vaginal microbiome balance. By replenishing commensal bacteria, Ladybiome aims to lower vaginal pH through lactic acid production and inhibit the overgrowth of pathogenic organisms via competitive exclusion and the production of antimicrobial substances. It is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development, representing a microbiome-targeted approach to managing recurrent vaginal dysbiosis.
