Overview

LAE111 is a preclinical-stage bispecific antibody being developed by Laekna Therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. It is designed to target and modulate the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor subfamily B members 1 and 2 (LILRB1 and LILRB2), which are inhibitory immune checkpoint receptors expressed on various immune cells, including myeloid cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and T cells. By blocking these receptors, LAE111 aims to reprogram the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and enhance anti-tumor immunity. Preclinical data presented at the SITC 2023 annual meeting demonstrated that LAE111 can markedly activate T cell responses, particularly when used in combination with PD-1/PD-L1 antibodies, suggesting its potential to overcome resistance to current checkpoint inhibitor therapies.
