Overview
Laggera pterodonta mixture is a botanical drug preparation derived from the plant *Laggera pterodonta* (Benth.) Benth. ex Oliv., a species widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine under the name Chou Ling Dan. The mixture is primarily indicated for the treatment of respiratory tract infections due to its potent anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, and anti-bacterial activities. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to bioactive constituents such as sesquiterpenoids and flavonoids, which modulate the immune response by inhibiting the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α and IL-6 and suppressing the NF-κB signaling pathway. Clinical evaluation has focused on its efficacy and safety in pediatric patients, particularly for acute bronchiolitis in children aged 24 months and younger.
