Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Laifuzi (Semen Raphani) is the dried mature seed of *Raphanus sativus* L. (radish), a traditional Chinese medicinal herb used to eliminate food retention, descend Qi, and resolve phlegm. In modern pharmacological research, it has demonstrated anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-hypertensive properties, often attributed to active constituents such as sinapine and sulforaphene. In the context of the clinical trial ChiCTR2300071734, it is utilized as a component of a multi-herb Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formula developed by the Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the treatment of progressive pulmonary fibrosis (PPF) with a phlegm heat–blood stasis pattern. The herb is traditionally indicated for cough and wheezing with profuse sputum, as well as digestive stagnation.
