Overview
Lais Graminacee is a sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) product developed by Lofarma S.p.A. for the treatment of grass pollen-induced allergic rhinoconjunctivitis. It belongs to the Lais family of allergoids, which consist of allergen extracts chemically modified through carbamylation to form carbamylated monomeric allergoids. This chemical modification reduces the allergen's IgE-binding capacity (allergenicity) while preserving its ability to induce a protective immune response (immunogenicity), thereby enhancing the safety profile for sublingual administration. Formulated as sublingual drops, Lais Graminacee is administered to induce immune tolerance to grass pollen antigens and has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for safety and tolerability.
