Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LAM204 is a small molecule polyunsaturated fatty acid derivative being developed by Laminar Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of inflammation and ischemic stroke. It utilizes a novel therapeutic approach known as melitherapy (Membrane Lipid Therapy), which targets and modulates the lipid composition and structure of cell membranes to regulate cell signaling pathways. Specifically, LAM204 has demonstrated significant anti-inflammatory effects in animal models, with efficacy comparable to steroids but with a potentially lower toxicity profile due to its non-steroidal structure. Preclinical research, conducted in collaboration with the University of León, has shown promising results in animal models of ischemic brain lesions.
