Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lamellasome IPF-NA is a microRNA-based therapeutic candidate developed by Lamellar Biomedical for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). It utilizes the proprietary LAMELLASOME platform, which consists of synthetic lipidic vesicles designed to deliver nucleic acid therapeutics—including microRNAs, siRNAs, and mRNAs—directly to lung tissue via inhalation or nebulization. The therapy aims to reduce inflammatory responses, interrupt the progression of pulmonary fibrosis, and modulate tissue surface tension in the lungs. As a nucleic acid-based biologic, it represents a novel approach to treating progressive and fatal interstitial lung diseases by delivering regulatory molecules to affected tissues.
