Overview

The laminin-γ2-NR6A1 (Lm-γ2F) fusion protein is a product of a chromosomal translocation between the genes *LAMC2* and *NR6A1*, resulting in a truncated form of the laminin γ-chain that retains an epidermal growth factor (EGF)-like domain. This fusion protein functions as an EGFR ligand and activates EGFR/AKT signaling pathways, promoting cancer cell proliferation, survival, motility, and invasiveness. It has been shown to enhance metastatic potential in non-small-cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) cells lacking EGFR mutations[1][3][4]. The presence of this fusion is associated with increased expression of membrane-type 1 matrix metalloproteinase and elevated metastatic activity in vivo[1]. Its oncogenic role suggests it may be a therapeutic target for mitigating tumor progression and metastasis.
