Lamivudine + tenofovir disoproxil fumarate + nelfinavir is a three-drug antiretroviral combination used in the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) infection. Lamivudine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate are both nucleoside/nucleotide reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs), which inhibit HIV reverse transcriptase, thereby blocking viral replication. Nelfinavir is an HIV-1 protease inhibitor that prevents the cleavage of viral polyproteins, resulting in immature, noninfectious viral particles. This combination would be used as part of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) regimens for HIV-1 infection in adults and pediatric patients weighing at least 35 kg. Each component has been widely studied and recommended by international guidelines as part of multi-drug regimens for effective suppression of HIV[2][6][10].
