LAMP3 small interfering RNA (siRNA) is an experimental RNA interference (RNAi) agent designed to silence the expression of the *LAMP3* (Lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 3) gene. In the context of cervical cancer research, LAMP3 has been identified as a key driver of an antiviral gene sub-network, often upregulated due to chromosomal gains on the 3q region. By targeting LAMP3 mRNA for degradation, this siRNA reduces the expression of interferon-dependent genes such as STAT1, IRF7, and OAS1. Research indicates that LAMP3 overexpression is associated with increased metastatic potential and the elimination of episomal human papillomavirus (HPV), which may paradoxically aid tumor progression by releasing the expression of viral oncogenes E6 and E7. The siRNA is primarily used as a research tool to investigate the molecular mechanisms of cervical carcinogenesis and the host immune response to viral infection.
