Lan taoye total alkaloids capsule is a botanical drug candidate developed by the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It contains a total alkaloid fraction extracted from the plant *Heliotropium indicum* (commonly known in China as Lan taoye). The drug is being developed for the treatment of respiratory inflammatory conditions, specifically acute tracheobronchitis and acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis. It is designed as an improved oral formulation (capsule) compared to existing Lan taoye tablets. Clinical development has reached Phase 1, with studies focusing on the pharmacokinetics and safety of single and multiple oral doses in healthy Chinese adults.
