**Lanabecestat + rosuvastatin** is a combination of two small molecule drugs: lanabecestat, a β-site amyloid precursor protein-cleaving enzyme 1 (BACE1) inhibitor developed for Alzheimer's disease, and rosuvastatin, an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) primarily used to lower cholesterol and reduce cardiovascular risk. There is no evidence that this combination is a marketed fixed-dose product; rather, studies exist that examine the pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenetic interaction when both are co-administered. Lanabecestat acts by inhibiting BACE1, thereby reducing the production of β-amyloid, a key factor in Alzheimer's disease pathology. Rosuvastatin inhibits HMG-CoA reductase, the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, resulting in decreased cholesterol levels and increased uptake and catabolism of LDL cholesterol. There is pharmacokinetic data showing that co-administration does not result in clinically significant drug-drug interactions[1][3][5][7].
