Overview

Lanavatrep (also known as ontivatrep or KM-023) is an orally administered, highly specific and selective small molecule inhibitor of the transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 3 (TRPV3). Developed by Orvida Pharma (formerly Kamari Pharma), lanavatrep is designed to modulate the TRPV3-related pathway to restore the skin barrier and normalize epidermal cell proliferation and differentiation. The drug is currently in Phase Ia/Ib clinical development for rare and severe genetic skin disorders, including Olmsted syndrome, pachyonychia congenita, and palmoplantar keratoderma, and is in preclinical development for ichthyosis (including Harlequin ichthyosis).
