Lanerkitug is a human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1) monoclonal antibody that targets the C-C chemokine receptor type 8 (CCR8). It is afucosylated to enhance its immune effector functions, particularly antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). The drug acts as an inhibitor of CCR8, which is expressed on regulatory T lymphocytes (Tregs) within the tumor microenvironment. By blocking CCR8 and depleting Tregs via ADCC, lanerkitug aims to modulate the immune response against tumors and exert antineoplastic effects. Lanerkitug is being developed primarily for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including melanoma and non-small cell lung cancer. The developer of this drug is Bayer[2][3][4].
