Lankof is a combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Lancet Pharmaceuticals, an Indian branded generic company. It is primarily indicated for the relief of productive cough associated with respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, bronchial asthma, and other bronchospastic disorders. The formulation typically contains four active ingredients: terbutaline, ambroxol, guaifenesin, and menthol. Terbutaline acts as a selective beta-2 adrenergic agonist, providing bronchodilation by relaxing the smooth muscles of the airways. Ambroxol serves as a mucolytic agent that thins and loosens mucus, facilitating its clearance from the respiratory tract. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that increases the volume and reduces the viscosity of secretions in the trachea and bronchi.
