Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lanqin Oral Liquid is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) formulation widely used in China for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections and viral diseases. It is composed of five herbal ingredients: *Isatis tinctoria* (Banlangen), *Scutellaria baicalensis* (Huangqin), *Gardenia jasminoides* (Zhizi), *Phellodendron amurense* (Huangbai), and *Sterculia lychnophora* (Pangdahai). The preparation is primarily indicated for acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis characterized by symptoms such as sore throat, fever, and cough. Clinical research has also explored its efficacy in treating Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD) in pediatric patients. Its therapeutic effects are attributed to its broad-spectrum antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties, which help alleviate mucosal inflammation and inhibit viral replication.
