Overview

Lanreotide + temozolomide is a combination therapy used primarily for the treatment of progressive neuroendocrine tumors, including gastroenteropancreatic and thoracic neuroendocrine tumors. Lanreotide is a synthetic somatostatin analog that acts mainly via somatostatin receptor subtypes 2 and 5, inhibiting hormone secretion and exerting antiproliferative effects on tumor cells. Temozolomide is an oral alkylating agent of the triazene class that methylates DNA at several sites, leading to cell cycle arrest and apoptosis in rapidly dividing tumor cells. The combination has shown efficacy in patients with advanced or metastatic well-differentiated neuroendocrine tumors who have progressed on other therapies, with a manageable safety profile[1][2][3][5].
