Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lansinoh is a topical therapeutic product composed of 100% ultra-pure, medical-grade HPA (High Purified Anhydrous) lanolin. It is primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of sore, cracked nipples associated with breastfeeding. The product functions through a physical mechanism as a semi-occlusive emollient; it creates a breathable, protective moisture barrier that facilitates moist wound healing by preventing transepidermal water loss and allowing the skin to rehydrate from within. Due to its high degree of purification, which removes allergenic components such as free wool alcohols and pesticide residues, it is hypoallergenic and safe for infants, requiring no removal before nursing. Galen Limited serves as a commercialization and distribution partner for Lansinoh in specific territories.
