Lansinoh is a topical therapeutic product composed of 100% ultra-pure, medical-grade HPA (High Purified Anhydrous) lanolin. It is primarily indicated for the treatment and prevention of sore, cracked nipples associated with breastfeeding. The product functions through a physical mechanism as a semi-occlusive emollient; it creates a breathable, protective moisture barrier that facilitates moist wound healing by preventing transepidermal water loss and allowing the skin to rehydrate from within.
