Lansoprazole + naproxen + aspirin

Lansoprazole + naproxen + aspirin is a combination therapy that includes three active pharmaceutical ingredients: - Lansoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that reduces gastric acid secretion by inhibiting the Gastric H+/K+ ATPase enzyme in gastric parietal cells. - Naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic and antipyretic properties, which works by inhibiting Cyclooxygenase 1 (COX-1) and Cyclooxygenase 2 (COX-2), thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis involved in inflammation and pain. - Aspirin, an antiplatelet agent and NSAID that irreversibly inhibits cyclooxygenase enzymes (primarily COX-1), leading to decreased thromboxane A2 production for platelet aggregation inhibition as well as anti-inflammatory effects. This combination is used primarily for patients with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or ankylosing spondylitis who require long-term NSAID therapy but are at increased risk of gastrointestinal ulcers or cardiovascular events. Lansoprazole helps protect the stomach lining from ulceration caused by chronic NSAID use.
