Larch turpentine is a natural oleoresin obtained from the European larch (*Larix decidua*), manufactured by Herbrand PharmaChemicals as an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) according to Pharmacopoeia Helvetica (Ph. Helv.) standards. As a complex mixture of resin acids (such as abietic acid) and essential oils (terpenes), it functions primarily as a rubefacient and counter-irritant, inducing local vasodilation and increased blood flow when applied topically. It also exhibits mild antiseptic properties. It is traditionally used in the formulation of ointments, plasters, and liniments for the treatment of minor aches, pains, boils (furuncles), and respiratory ailments through inhalation. In addition to human pharmaceutical use, it is widely utilized in veterinary medicine for hoof care and wound management.
