Overview

Larix sibirica wood, also known as Siberian larch wood, is primarily recognized for its use as a durable and rot-resistant timber in construction, decking, and other outdoor applications due to its high density and resin content. However, extracts derived from Larix sibirica wood possess significant medicinal properties and are utilized in dietary supplements and traditional medicine. The two main active components are arabinogalactan and dihydroquercetin (taxifolin). Larch arabinogalactan is a polysaccharide known for its immunostimulant and prebiotic effects, supporting immune, respiratory, and gastrointestinal health. It has been reported to stimulate the immune system, boost antibody response to vaccines, and act as a dietary fiber that promotes beneficial gut microbiota. Dihydroquercetin, a flavonoid polyphenol, is a potent antioxidant found in the wood, contributing to cardiovascular and respiratory health by strengthening blood vessels and normalizing blood circulation. These extracts are used in various health products for their immunomodulating, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.
