Larotaxel + cisplatin is a combination chemotherapy regimen consisting of **larotaxel**, a novel taxane derivative, and **cisplatin**, a platinum-based chemotherapy agent. Larotaxel acts by stabilizing microtubules, thereby inhibiting cell division, while cisplatin causes cross-linking of DNA, preventing DNA repair and leading to apoptosis. This combination was investigated primarily as a first-line treatment for locally advanced or metastatic urothelial tract or bladder cancer and for non-small cell lung cancer. Clinical trials found it generally manageable in terms of toxicity, but, relative to the standard gemcitabine/cisplatin regimen, larotaxel + cisplatin did not demonstrate improved outcomes, and development of larotaxel was discontinued prematurely[1][2][3][4].
