Overview

LAS194871 is an investigational small molecule drug developed as part of a muscarinic M3 antagonist and beta2-agonist (MABA) platform for the treatment of respiratory diseases, particularly asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It was originally developed by Almirall and later became part of AstraZeneca’s pipeline following their acquisition of Almirall’s respiratory franchise. The compound acts as a dual-action bronchodilator, combining muscarinic receptor antagonism with beta2-adrenoceptor agonism to relax airway smooth muscle and improve airflow in patients with obstructive airway diseases. As of the latest available information, LAS194871 was in pre-clinical development[1][7].
