LASEP1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA therapeutic candidate designed to target the mRNA of Lung Cancer-Associated Serum Protein 1 (LASEP1). LASEP1 is a secreted growth factor that is significantly overexpressed in both non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC), where it correlates with poor patient prognosis. The siRNA functions by inducing the degradation of LASEP1 mRNA, thereby reducing the secretion of the LASEP1 protein and inhibiting its interaction with the LASEP1 receptor (LASEPR). This disruption of autocrine and paracrine signaling leads to suppressed growth and reduced motility in lung cancer cells.
