Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lasmiditan + propranolol is a nonbranded coadministration of two pharmacological agents used in the management of migraine. **Lasmiditan** is a centrally penetrant, selective serotonin (5-HT1F) receptor agonist indicated for the acute treatment of migraine, exerting its action by inhibiting neuropeptide release and modulating pain pathways in the central nervous system without inducing vasoconstriction. **Propranolol** is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist ('beta-blocker') used in migraine prophylaxis and other cardiovascular indications, primarily working by reducing heart rate and cardiac output, and also decreasing renin release from the kidneys. The combination is typically considered when a patient requires both acute and prophylactic management of migraine.
