Overview

LASSBio-2065 is a novel small molecule Rho-kinase (ROCK) inhibitor developed by the Laboratório de Avaliação e Síntese de Substâncias Bioativas (LASSBio) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. It is currently being investigated for the treatment of pulmonary hypertension (PH) and associated right ventricular (RV) dysfunction. Preclinical studies in rat models of monocrotaline-induced PH have demonstrated that LASSBio-2065 can significantly reduce pulmonary vascular resistance, medial wall thickness of distal pulmonary arterioles, and RV hypertrophy. Additionally, the compound has shown the ability to improve RV cardiac output and diastolic function, suggesting its potential as a therapeutic intervention for managing functional and morphological alterations in PH.
