Overview

Latarcibart (formerly INCB160658) is a recombinant monoclonal antibody that acts as a modulator of Protein S, a natural anticoagulant. By binding to and inhibiting the activity of Protein S, latarcibart promotes the procoagulant pathway, thereby increasing thrombin generation. This mechanism is designed to restore hemostasis in patients with bleeding disorders. The drug is currently being developed by Incyte Biosciences for the treatment of Von Willebrand Disease (VWD), a condition characterized by deficient or defective Von Willebrand factor leading to impaired platelet adhesion and clotting. It is being evaluated in the VIVID clinical trial program, which includes Phase 3 studies (VIVID-1 and VIVID-2) to assess its efficacy and safety in patients with severe VWD.
