Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LAU-FWL-03 is an investigational therapeutic candidate developed by Vectans Pharma for the treatment of bacterial and viral respiratory tract infections. The drug is formulated using the proprietary Lauriad technology, which consists of a muco-adhesive buccal tablet designed to adhere to the upper gum or oral mucosa. Once attached, the tablet provides a sustained and localized release of the active ingredient(s) directly into the oropharyngeal cavity. This delivery mechanism is intended to achieve high local concentrations of the therapeutic agent at the primary site of infection in the upper respiratory tract, potentially enhancing efficacy while minimizing systemic absorption and associated side effects. LAU-FWL-03 is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical development.
