Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LAU_XT-13 is an investigational muco-adhesive buccal tablet developed by Vectans Pharma for the treatment of xerostomia (dry mouth). The formulation utilizes Vectans' proprietary Lauriad technology, which enables the drug to adhere to the oral mucosa and provide sustained release of the active ingredient directly into the oral cavity. This approach aims to improve the management of dry mouth symptoms, which are often associated with conditions like Sjögren's syndrome or as a side effect of radiotherapy for head and neck cancer. As of late 2021, the program was in Phase 1 clinical development.
