Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LAUR-008 is a non-therapeutic, preclinical-stage proof-of-concept formulation developed by Lauren Sciences using its proprietary V-Smart® nanomedicine platform. It consists of V-Smart® nanovesicles (fabricated from synthetic bolaamphiphiles) encapsulating human immunoglobulin G (hIgG) antibody as a surrogate agent. LAUR-008 is designed to evaluate the platform's ability to non-invasively deliver large biological molecules, specifically antibodies, across the blood-brain barrier (BBB) into the brain via systemic administration. In preclinical studies, systemic administration of LAUR-008 demonstrated significantly higher brain delivery of hIgG compared to free hIgG, proving the platform's potential for CNS-targeted therapeutic delivery.
