Laurencia tronoi extract is a botanical extract derived from the red macroalga *Laurencia tronoi*, specifically collected from the coastal waters of North Sulawesi, Indonesia. It is being investigated as a potential antineoplastic and chemopreventive agent for the treatment of human papillomavirus (HPV)-related cervical cancer. In preclinical in vitro studies, the ethanol extract of *L. tronoi* demonstrated significant cytotoxic activity against human cervical adenocarcinoma (HeLa) cells, with an IC50 value of approximately 78.53 μg/g. The extract is characterized by a high total phenolic content and strong antioxidant properties, as evidenced by DPPH radical scavenging and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays. Its bioactive profile likely includes halogenated secondary metabolites, such as sesquiterpenes and terpenoids, which are characteristic of the *Laurencia* genus and are known to induce apoptosis and inhibit cell cycle progression in malignant cells.
