Drug intelligence / Profile preview
*Lavandula coronopifolia* ethanol extract is a botanical extract derived from the plant *Lavandula coronopifolia* (commonly known as Oregano-leaf Lavender). It is being investigated for its potential antineoplastic properties, specifically in the treatment of breast cancer. In vitro studies using the MDA-MB-231 human breast carcinoma cell line have demonstrated that the ethanol extract induces concentration-dependent cytotoxicity and significant morphological changes, including the loss of original cell morphology and linkage. While preliminary results suggest promising anticancer potential, the specific bioactive compounds and the precise molecular mechanisms of action responsible for inducing cell death remain to be fully characterized.
