Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Lavior Diabetic Wound Gel is a topical botanical-based therapeutic developed by Lavior Pharma for the management of diabetic foot ulcers and other chronic wounds. The formulation is based on a proprietary extract of *Inula viscosa* (Dittrichia viscosa), a Mediterranean plant known for its anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. The gel is designed to maintain a moist wound environment, reduce local inflammation, and prevent secondary infections, thereby facilitating tissue regeneration and accelerating the healing of non-healing wounds. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials, such as the RENEW study, to demonstrate its efficacy and non-inferiority compared to standard hydrogel treatments.
