Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Laxante Fibra is a bulk-forming fiber laxative formula developed by the Spanish pharmaceutical company GeiserPHARMA SL. It is designed for the treatment of occasional or functional constipation. The product functions as a bulk-forming agent, which absorbs water in the intestine to create a softer, bulkier stool that stimulates normal bowel movements. In clinical development, it was evaluated in a multisite, randomized Phase 3 trial in Spain, where its efficacy and safety were compared against Plantaben (a psyllium husk-based laxative), focusing on endpoints such as weekly stool frequency and time to first response.
