Lazclatinib (LP-100) is an investigational small molecule inhibitor developed by Newave Pharmaceutical, primarily targeting the anti-apoptotic protein B-cell lymphoma 2 (Bcl-2). By selectively binding to Bcl-2, lazclatinib disrupts its interaction with pro-apoptotic proteins, thereby triggering the intrinsic apoptotic pathway in malignant cells that depend on Bcl-2 for survival. The agent is currently being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of various hematologic malignancies, including relapsed or refractory chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL). Additionally, lazclatinib is being explored in combination regimens with other targeted therapies, such as BTK inhibitors, for conditions like acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), and other B-cell malignancies.
