Lazolex

Lazolex is a topical emollient gel medical device based on an extract of Juglans regia (walnut) formulated in a matrix of three different silicones to create a mechanical barrier on the skin and mucosa, providing a moist, protective environment that relieves itching, stinging, burning, and dryness in inflammatory skin diseases such as dermatitis and herpes simplex–associated mucocutaneous lesions.[1][4][6][13] Developed in Georgia and manufactured by Hartington Pharmaceutical, Lazolex has been clinically evaluated as a 5–10% walnut pericarp extract gel applied several times daily for 10 days, demonstrating rapid symptom relief, accelerated healing of HSV-1 and HSV-2 lesions, and reduced recurrence rates, effects attributed to barrier restoration, local anti-inflammatory and antiviral activity, and immunomodulatory properties of the walnut extract.[1][3][5][8][9]
