Overview

LB-DTK-CMV is an autologous cytomegalovirus (CMV)-specific T-cell therapy being developed by LucasBio. It is designed to treat patients with antiviral-resistant and refractory CMV retinitis, a serious viral infection of the retina that can lead to blindness, particularly in immunocompromised individuals. The therapy involves isolating T cells from the patient, expanding those specific to CMV antigens, and re-infusing them to restore or enhance the immune system's ability to control the virus. It is currently being evaluated in exploratory clinical trials to assess its safety, efficacy, and impact on viral load in both plasma and aqueous humor.
