Overview

LB-LR1109 is a first-in-class investigational monoclonal antibody targeting Leukocyte Immunoglobulin Like Receptor B-1 (LILRB1), an immune checkpoint protein expressed on several immune cell types including T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and macrophages. LILRB1 is exploited by cancer cells to evade immune surveillance. By inhibiting LILRB1, LB-LR1109 aims to simultaneously activate multiple anti-tumor immune cell populations—potentially offering broader anti-cancer effects than therapies that focus on single cell types. Preclinical studies demonstrated dose-dependent anti-cancer activity. The drug is being developed by LG Chem and its subsidiary AVEO Oncology for the treatment of advanced solid tumors in patients who have progressed after standard therapies[1][3][4][5].
