Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LB-OTG05 is an oral, preclinical-stage engineered live biotherapeutic product (eLBP) being developed by LysinBio for the treatment of obesity and diabetes. The therapy utilizes LysinBio's proprietary eLBPsystem drug delivery platform to engineer a Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) microorganism that expresses exenatide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist. By delivering exenatide orally via the engineered microbe, LB-OTG05 aims to provide a convenient, non-invasive alternative to injectable GLP-1 therapies. In preclinical mouse models, administration of LB-OTG05 demonstrated an approximately 11% reduction in body weight and a 12% reduction in blood glucose levels after 12 weeks of treatment.
