Overview
LB220-D08 is an investigational, orally administered small-molecule complement inhibitor targeting Complement Factor B (CFB). Developed by Shijiazhuang Yiling Pharmaceutical, it is a Class 1 chemical new drug designed to selectively block the alternative complement pathway. By inhibiting Factor B, LB220-D08 prevents the activation of C3 convertase, thereby reducing the generation of anaphylatoxins C3a and C5a, as well as the formation of C5 convertase and the membrane attack complex (MAC, C5b-9), while sparing the classical and lectin complement pathways. LB220-D08 is formulated as sustained-release tablets and is in clinical development for the treatment of atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS).
