Overview

LB2401 is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy developed by Legend Biotech. It is designed to target G-protein coupled receptor class C group 5 member D (GPRC5D), an orphan receptor that is highly and selectively expressed on malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma, with limited expression on normal tissues. The therapy involves the genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a CAR specific to GPRC5D, enabling the immune system to recognize and eliminate myeloma cells. LB2401 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma.
