Overview
LBP-EC01 is an investigational, genetically enhanced bacteriophage cocktail developed by Locus Biosciences for treatment of urinary tract infections caused by *Escherichia coli*, including antimicrobial-resistant and multidrug-resistant strains. The product uses engineered lytic bacteriophages carrying a CRISPR-Cas3 system directed at the *E. coli* genome, combining phage-mediated bacterial lysis with Cas3-mediated degradation of bacterial DNA. It has completed Phase 1b testing and is in the two-part Phase 2 ELIMINATE trial for acute uncomplicated *E. coli* urinary tract infection.
