Overview
LC-PC02 is a preclinical-stage live biotherapeutic product (LBP) being developed by LISCure Biosciences in collaboration with Celltrion for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. As a microbiome-based therapy, LC-PC02 is designed to modulate the gut-brain axis, a critical pathway in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders. The drug aims to address the underlying mechanisms of Parkinson's, potentially by reducing neuroinflammation or inhibiting the aggregation of alpha-synuclein, though specific molecular targets are often proprietary in early development. The partnership with Celltrion, established in early 2023, leverages LISCure's microbiome platform and Celltrion's manufacturing and clinical development expertise to advance the candidate through proof-of-concept studies.
