LC2 is an experimental nanomedicine consisting of the chemotherapy agent cytarabine (araC) conjugated to a linear N-(2-hydroxypropyl)methacrylamide (HPMA) copolymer via a 5-pentanoyl spacer. This polymer-drug conjugate is designed to overcome the rapid enzymatic degradation of free cytarabine, thereby improving its pharmacokinetic profile and therapeutic efficacy. In preclinical models of aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphomas, including mantle cell and Burkitt lymphoma, LC2 demonstrated sustained drug release and superior tumor growth suppression compared to free cytarabine, with the ability to delay tumor regrowth for over 40 days.
