LCAR-B4822M is an autologous chimeric antigen receptor T cell (CAR-T) therapy in which a patient's own peripheral blood T lymphocytes are genetically modified to express a CAR targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA). The engineered T cells are designed to recognize and bind BCMA on the surface of malignant plasma cells, leading to their destruction through cytotoxic mechanisms. This therapy is being developed primarily for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. The drug is in early clinical development and has been evaluated in phase 1 trials for patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma[1][2][4].
