Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LCAR-BCX is a universal chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy developed by Nanjing Legend Biotech. It consists of allogeneic (universal) T lymphocytes that are genetically modified to express a CAR targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), which is highly expressed on malignant plasma cells in multiple myeloma. The mechanism involves the recognition and targeted elimination of BCMA-expressing cells, making it a promising investigational treatment for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma and potentially other neoplasms. Unlike autologous CAR-T therapies, this product uses donor-derived T-cells, aiming to provide an off-the-shelf option for patients[1][2][3][4].
