LCAR-G08 cells is an investigational autologous chimeric antigen receptor T-cell (CAR-T) therapy targeting Guanylyl Cyclase C (GCC). Developed by Peking University, it consists of T cells genetically engineered to express a CAR specific for GCC, a receptor frequently overexpressed in gastrointestinal malignancies. The therapy is intended for the treatment of GCC-positive advanced gastrointestinal tumors, including metastatic colorectal cancer, esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, pancreatic cancer, and small bowel cancer. In clinical evaluation (NCT06197178), patients undergo lymphodepleting chemotherapy prior to a single infusion of LCAR-G08. The program reached proof-of-concept in a Phase 1 trial before termination.
